Do you separate your plastic bottles, paper and tins from food scraps, food packets and nappies? On average about 60% of the rubbish that goes in your grey bin can be recycled – and yet many of us are still guilty of chucking it all in the same general waste bin.

More household rubbish is created in Barking and Dagenham than any other London borough – and a quick way to change this would be recycling. Many of our school kids are already avid recyclers, so we spoke to them to find out how and why more local people should recycle.
