Saturday 3 – Monday 5 July 2021 saw the Thank You Roadshow travel all around the borough as our way of thanking the NHS, our keyworkers and our community for all your incredible work and resilience throughout this past year. The roadshow visited three different parks on the Saturday and Sunday, offering free entertainment in a Covid secure event space.
And on Monday, as part of the NHS and Frontline Workers Day, the roadshow took to the road, with the float visiting every ward in the borough. Sponsored by West Ham United captain, Mark Noble, the roadshow came with lots of feel-good family entertainment including singing, dance, acrobatics and Dhol drumming. On Monday, we raised the Thank You Flag at Barking Town Hall and held a two-minute silence in memory of all those who have lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic.
At 8pm, we also encouraged residents to join us in a minute’s applause as we clapped for all the nurses, doctors, frontline workers and volunteers – our heroes.
