Barking and Dagenham marks Holocaust Memorial Day
To mark this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day, Barking and Dagenham Council held a series of events to remember all those that had suffered at the hands of the Nazi regime. On Monday 28 January, we invited local faith leaders and genocide survivors to light a candle and hold a minute’s silence to honour everyone affected by the Holocaust.
The event also saw students from Eastbury Community School give speeches expressing their feelings on the Holocaust, and how we can work to stop such a tragedy ever happening again.
