The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Council partnered with SportInspired for the second year running to encourage healthy eating and physical activity levels in children through the “New Me†programme.
The programme increased knowledge of healthy eating and improved attitude towards physical activity through encouraging team spirit, positivity and showing children how to get the most out of being active.
Three festivals were held at Barking Sporthouse and Gym on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd May. This challenged over 550 children from local primary schools to get competitive. The children were inspired to do we

The programme increased knowledge of healthy eating and improved attitude towards physical activity through encouraging team spirit, positivity and showing children how to get the most out of being active.
Three festivals were held at Barking Sporthouse and Gym on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd May. This challenged over 550 children from local primary schools to get competitive. The children were inspired to do well in school and stay active by Councillor Darren Rodwell and Councillor Saima Ashraf who attended day three of the festivals and got involved in playing the sports including a mass dance-off at the end!
