Today marks 72 years since the #Windrush brought the first of many immigrants to British shores following WWII. Since then the Windrush generation and their descendants have been key in making Britain the vibrant and proudly multi-cultural nation it is today!

Today marks 72 years since the #Windrush brought the first of many immigrants to British shores following WWII. Since then the Windrush generation and their descendants have been key in making Britain the vibrant and proudly multi-cultural nation it is today!
Normally, we would mark Windrush Day with an event at the Town Hall, unfortunately, due to coronavirus, we are having to do things virtually this year with a video, which features councillors and other prominent people giving speeches on Windrush as well as reading a poem.
